You are amazing.

Hey Reader!

I think it's fun to give a shout out to people that deserve it:

...to some amazing women and men who do amazing things every day.

...to YOU.

That's right: YOU ARE AMAZING.

You don't get enough credit for all the things you do. Whether you get to "all the things" on your list or not.

Do you know how I know that you're amazing?

I'll give you three reasons.

  1. You subscribe to a blog such as Hands On As We Grow® (and probably many others) that help you be a better parent by taking an active role in your child's growth.
  2. You care an awful lot about your kids. (I know this because of #1.) I know this sounds like a duh, of course statement, but a lot of kids out there don't have a parent who cares like you do. You go above and beyond by creating special childhood moments, creating a bond; and if you're not quite there to doing that yet, you're on your way and trying. THAT is amazing.
  3. You are a mom. You are a dad. You are a grandparent. Period.

That's all - I just want to give you some props to start your new year off right and thank you... for being you. Keep it up!

~ Jamie

Scavenger Hunts & Weekly Activity Plan

Hey Reader - Let me clarify, because I've been getting some questions. "I thought I cancelled my subscription." Yep. You did. Honestly, there's not a subscription that is paid for anymore, so you can't be paying. We shut down The Activity Room in December. The app is no longer. The packet of activities is no longer. The monthly challenges, the story times... all no longer. But, what I've decided to keep - and free of charge to you - is the weekly plan of activities. Delivered right to you,...

Hey Reader - I've been thinking... what looks like a "successful" activity to you? Is it the time spent on the activity? The quality time you spent together? The outcome of the craft (i.e. does it look nice)? Have you ever had an activity that didn't go as planned, which maybe in itself was a fail, but it sparked an idea for another activity that then created a great deal of time spent on it together? What that initial activity a fail then? Do you tend to stop a craft in its tracks so that it...
