A beautiful nature craft that won’t end up in the trash

Reader...

Do you love making crafts with your kids, but hate trying to decide if you should keep them or throw them away? My homemade nature suncatcher wind chimes will be a no-brainer to keep at your house to use as a real, beautiful decoration. I always have friends asking where I got these, and I love telling them that my kids made them!

This craft is an awesome way to get some time outdoors, learn about flowers and plants together, and create beautiful, eco-friendly decor without having to buy a bunch of unique craft supplies.

All you need is:

  • Contact paper
  • Scissors
  • Marker or pen
  • Rings from Mason jar lids
  • String (we used hemp cord – but yarn works too)
  • A sturdy stick
  • and FLOWERS!

We made ours from wildflowers outdoors, and I had such a fun time teaching them about the different types of flowers in our environment while making beautiful keepsakes out of them.

As Mother’s Day approaches, this craft is an awesome gift idea for anyone who might like some springtime flair on their porch or in their window. It’s homemade, without looking tacky, and we’ve found that moms and grandmas love them!

A fun idea I like to incorporate is making one chime for each member of the family. You can use different flowers and leaves to symbolize each person, whether it’s using the colors of everyone’s birthstones or showing off their personality. It can help your kids think about how they’re unique, while still being part of the family. I hope you enjoy making them together
